Architect Oliver du Puy and fashion publicist Isabel Migliore's Sydney home was recently featured in Russh, and our Maker&Son Song Sofa sits in the living room. It's worth a proper look, both for the home and for how deliberate the whole approach was.
The couple moved to Sydney after years split between Melbourne and Milan, and later Byron Bay, looking for a city with real natural beauty but enough scale to actually live in. Their existing terrace had a decent flow but a falling-apart ceiling and a narrow, closed-off layout. The renovation opened the rear of the house to the garden and chased more light. Add too much glass to an old terrace, and it stops feeling like one, but here the extension still reads as part of the house, not a bolt-on.
