Crafted™ Interviews...Caroline Groth

Who is Caroline Groth? Tell us your personal story and your motivation for embarking down the life path you have. What is your greatest learning experience in life so far?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always struggled with my mental health. At the age of 15, I was diagnosed with depression and at the age of just 22, I was diagnosed with cancer. Which really saw my mental health & depression spiral out of control. However, it was also this extremely hard time in my life that saw me stepping onto a path of choosing to live a mindful and healthy life with a focus on my soul and treating my body with honour and respect.

My greatest learning in life has been that beyond fear lies freedom and opportunity. Whenever we can push through our thoughts that we create ourselves and limiting beliefs we have within us, we are able to rise and progress further towards our true purposes here in life.

What are your life loves? What are the most important things to you and why?

Oh, I’m a BIG believer in having the right energies in my life. If anything or anyone feels draining in energy time after time, I have to look at it and see why that is. Normally it’s because our energies just don’t flow together and neither of them are destined to be in each others lives.

I love my nearest and dearest, and I take a lot of love and pride in my friendships, which are really like relationships to me. Also, my partner and my little dog Archie bring me so much joy and support in continuing to pursue my dreams every single day and I can’t ever express my gratitude enough for that.

Why is your home such an important place to you? How would you describe your home? What have you created both emotionally and physically?

Originally being from Denmark, creating a home & a space where you can feel safe, light, relax and be creatively inspired every single day is something I’ve always strived for in my life.

As I, myself, grow and evolve, so does my home. My home is always a reflection of where I’m at in life and what I’m evolving into.

I choose light colours that are uplifting and soothing because I’m very sensitive to darkness and don’t do well in the colder months. I also make sure that nature is brought into my home everyday through plants and cut-off flowers from our local market.

A sustainable future matters. You really believe in treating yourself, your environment and others well, why should others care (about sustainability in particular) and how can you encourage them take action in their own way?

The future of our planet really is a problem that is and should affect everyone human. We have the choice and opportunity to do something about this growing problem that is slowly, but surely, killing our planet if we don’t choose to take action sooner rather than later.

Sitting back and thinking ‘others will do something about it’, simply isn’t good enough. The small things we do everyday, adds up in the grand scheme of things.

If you don’t care about the planet, because you know you won’t be here when ‘sh*t hits the fan’, well then ask yourself; do you want your kids to live in a world that’s falling apart? I sure wouldn’t!

It’s easy to start small; bring your own shopping bags when doing the groceries, bring your own keep-cup when you get a take-away coffee, take shorter showers, only wash full-loads of washing, buy local produce from the farmers markets, shop sustainable long-term furniture made within the country or city you live in, say no to single-use plastic like straws, take-away containers etc. and bring your own.

It may not sound like much, but it all helps. The avg. Australian uses 130kg of plastic a year. Imagine what we all could do to lower that!

Parting words - what thought would you leave others with?

Health isn’t just about ourselves. Health should be looked at from a holistic aspect. Health isn’t eating lettuce day in and day out, and going to the gym 6 times a week. Health is looking after yourself, health is looking after our environment. It’s connecting with other like-minded humans and energies, it’s having balance in your life. Health is about being happy and truly connecting with yourself. Health is creating the life that your heart truly wants for yourself.
